Offering Colonoscopy at no charge for uninsured patients who do not have the ability to pay.
The physicians of Long Island Digestive Endoscopy Center/ Long Island Digestive Disease Consultants have joined together to reach out to the entire Suffolk County community in an effort to educate residents on the need for colorectal cancer screening. The goal of our educational campaign is to reduce the number of deaths from colorectal cancer by making colonoscopy cancer screening as widely available as possible. As part of it's Community Outreach our practice also offers the Open Access Colonoscopy Program. The program makes colon cancer screening more accessible for everyone. It allows healthy people, age 50 and older, the option to schedule a screening colonoscopy without the inconvenience of an initial office visit.
We will accept patients for colorectal cancer screening who have private health insurance, Affordable Care Act Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or no insurance.
Important: Those who are uninsured and do not have the ability to pay will be screened with a colonoscopy free of charge. We will accept charity cases (prescreened financially, if possible) for this outreach program.
Our Community Outreach Program includes the distribution of new brochures, flyers, and posters; reaching out to medical professionals; and contacting and attending meetings of community groups and organizations to carry the message that we want to save lives!
The National Institutes of Health indicate that the death rate from colorectal cancer could be reduced by more than 80% if people over 50 or with a family history of colon cancer were screened.
The doctors of Long Island Digestive Endoscopy Center / Long Island Digestive Disease Consultants are dedicated to saving lives.
